Chuck Norris era especialista em judô, taekwondo e jiu-jitsu brasileiro

Chuck Norris

Chuck Norris, cujo nome real é Carlos Ray Norris, recebeu seu treinamento em artes marciais na Coréia do Sul, onde foi enviado como policial militar pela Força Aérea dos Estados Unidos.

Norris fundou o Chun Kuk Do, ou “Caminho Universal”, e também é especialista em judô, tae kwon do, caratê e jiu-jitsu brasileiro. Ele ganhou diversos campeonatos de artes marciais, incluindo o Middleweight Karate em 1968, e a tríplice coroa em caratê pelo maior número de vitórias em torneios em 1969.

Norris estreou nas telas em Arma Secreta Contra Matt Helm (1968), estrelou com Bruce Lee em O Vôo do Dragão (1972), e fez seu primeiro papel como protagonista em Comboio de Carga Pesada (1977). Norris dedicou os filmes da série Super Comando (Missing in Action) para seu irmão mais novo, Weiland, morto no Vietnã.

Chuck Norris fundou The United Fighting Arts Federation (UFAF). O presidente norte-americano, George W. Bush, certa vez declarou que Chuck Norris era seu ator favorito.
