Os Bastidores da Velocidade coloca você no banco do motorista do evento mais emocionante e radical do automobilismo mundial, o Campeonato Mundial de Rally.

O Discovery Channel acompanha a Equipe Subaru World Rally e o motorista líder, Petter "Hollywood" Solberg, em sua luta pelo título de 2006. Com acesso exclusivo aos bastidores, esta série em seis episódios oferece uma visão única do mundo do automobilismo de grande orçamento, seguindo cada movimento da equipe e a preparação dos carros para todos os eventos e testes.

Desafio off-road por excelência, o Campeonato Mundial de Rally coloca potentes carros de rally nas mãos de alguns dos melhores motoristas do mundo, contra os terrenos mais difíceis e variados do planeta. Competindo pelo mundo em todo tipo de condições, estas feras do volante enfrentam estradas sinuosas, trilhas acidentadas, águas profundas e gelo sólido a velocidades que ultrapassam os 200 km/h. Eles contam com o apoio de engenheiros e mecânicos dedicados, e terão que lidar com chefes exigentes e patrocinadores famintos por sucesso. É um mundo de egos frágeis, emoções fortes e dramas humanos constantes.

Para os membros da equipe Subaru, foi uma montanha-russa de desafios, o pior ano tanto nos bastidores quanto nas provas do rally. Problemas intermináveis com os carros (e os motoristas) e a má-sorte foram constantes. Em cada passo da jornada, Os Bastidores da Velocidade revela os pequenos triunfos da equipe e as decepções que testaram sua capacidade de recuperação.
