Uma das corridas de barcos mais famosas do mundo, a Copa América é tão vibrante e glamourosa que chama a atenção de fãs em todo o mundo.

A corrrida acontece a cada quatro anos, e seu nome vem do primeiro barco a ganhar o troféu, em 1851, uma escuna chamada América.

A corrida consiste em uma série de regatas conduzidas por iates na classe 12 metros. A última competição aconteceu no litoral de Auckland, Nova Zelândia, em 2003, quando a equipe da casa foi derrotada pela equipe suíça, a Alinghi.

A 32ª Copa América vai acontecer em 2007, na costa de Valência, na Espanha.
